Fans trended the hashtag #BELIFTAPOLOGIZE last night after photos of ENHYPEN’s Jake went viral of him wearing a necklace with the word “Allah” written on it in Arabic.
On January 30, ENHYPEN’s Jake latest photos taken during the group’s performance on SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’ on January 23 trended on Twitter after fans noticed the word “Allah” written on his necklace in Arabic.
Shortly after, Muslim fans explained on Twitter why the necklace was offensive to their religion.
Fans also demanded that BELIFT LAB apologize for this mistake and take time to educate the stylists as to why it is wrong to use religion for aesthetics. Until now, the company hasn’t released any statements to address fans’ concerns.
In addition, fans reached out to the Korean brand that sold those necklaces, to which they responded with an apology and deleted the design from their store.
